Although vs. despite
- although / even though + cláusula (sujeto + verbo): "Although it was cold, we went."
- despite / in spite of + sustantivo o -ing: "Despite the cold, we went." / "Despite going, ..."
- Nunca although con sustantivo solo, y nunca despite con verbo conjugado.
La costura del texto

Dos frases sueltas: se leen cortadas.

El conector cose: el lector sabe que sigue mas de lo mismo.
- Referencia
This/These retoman la idea anterior sin repetirla: otra forma de coser. Para unir dos ideas parecidas: but o moreover?
Referencia sin repeticion
En vez de repetir el sustantivo, usa this / these / such / it / the former / the latter: "Prices rose. This worried buyers." Ojo: this suelto debe referirse a algo clarisimo; si no, añade un sustantivo: "this increase", "this decision".
Choose the correct linker: "___ the heavy traffic, we arrived on time."
"It was late, however we continued" uses correct punctuation.
I wanted to go out. , it started to rain. (contrast linker)
