- VERBOS DE FALLA: "it won't turn on" (won't = se niega, la queja clásica de aparatos), "it keeps restarting" (repetición molesta: keep + -ing), "there seems to be a problem with..." (problema percibido, suave), "it worked fine until..." (la línea de tiempo de la falla), "the screen is frozen / cracked / blank" (tres palabras, tres desastres distintos).
- DIAGNOSTICAR CON SECUENCIA: "When I plug it in, the light turns orange, but nothing happens" — when + presente para el patrón reproducible; "It started after the update" — after + evento: el técnico necesita la coreografía, no la tragedia.
- ESCALA DE CONSEJO de suave a firme: "You could try restarting it" (opción: try + -ing = experimentar) → "Have you thought about backing it up?" (sugerencia reflexiva) → "You should check the cable" (recomendación directa) → "You ought to replace the battery" (deber con peso) → "You have to / need to back it up NOW" (urgencia real: la única que justifica el have to en soporte).
- PRIMER CONDICIONAL PARA CONSECUENCIAS: "If you leave it charging overnight, the battery will degrade faster"; "Unless you update the app, it won't sync" — unless = if not, palabra que ahorra frases; y la variante honesta: "It might work, but..."
- PEDIR Y DAR TIEMPOS: "How long will it take?" — "It should be ready by Friday" (by = plazo límite); "Could you send it by Wednesday at the latest?" — el at the latest blando es más efectivo que el urgentes en mayúsculas.
Cómo estructurar el reporte de un problema
Del pánico al ticket perfecto
Estado y contexto
Qué es, cuándo falló, desde cuándo: "My laptop won't start. It worked fine until last night's update."
"I have tried charging it for two hours and restarting it twice" — present perfect de experimentos + lista: evita que te digan "reinicie el equipo" por primera vez en tu vida.Consecuencia y urgencia
"I need it for my final submission on Monday" — el para-qué calibra la prioridad ajena: sin consecuencia, tu problema es un dato.Cierre con petición clara
"Could you take a look today?"
- IF/UNLESS encadenan consecuencia: "if you shake it, it will turn off" / "unless you charge it, it dies" — causa-efecto en una línea

"Hi! My mouse keeps disconnecting during calls (it started after the update on Monday). I have tried a different USB port and another computer: same issue. Could you advise? I have my university interview on Friday."Síntomas
keeps disconnecting: intermitente, molesto, reproducible; during calls: el contexto donde duele (no solo dato técnico, consecuencia).Experimentos
I have tried + dos objetos: puerto y computadora — el perfect de lo ya probado excluye las respuestas inútiles del soporte.Petición
Could you advise?
"Thanks for the details. Since it happens on two computers, it's likely the dongle: unless a replacement solves it, we'll ship one free of charge by Thursday." — since da el diagnóstico, unless la condición, will el compromiso fechado.
Paso 1 de 5
Practica ahora
"The printer ___ print since Tuesday, even after restarting." (la máquina parece negarse)
"___ you back up your files regularly, you will lose them eventually."
Completa la falla intermitente: "My phone (restart) by itself three times today." (keeps + verbo en -ing)
"You should to check the cable" is correct advice grammar in English.
