Giving and backing up your opinion
At the end of the English track you no longer just describe things — you take a stance and support it. This unit practises agreeing, disagreeing politely, and linking ideas with contrast and cause.

- Opinion: In my view… / I firmly believe… / From where I stand…
- Contrast: although, however, whereas, on the other hand
- Cause-effect: because of, due to, as a result, therefore
- Concession: even though, despite, no matter how

Which sentence politely disagrees and gives a reason?
“Although it rained, we played” and “We played although it rained” have the same meaning.
