1. Will: la decisión de ahora mismo

Will sirve para: predicciones (Robots will do our homework one day), decisiones espontáneas tomadas al hablar (It's cold — I'll close the window), promesas y ofertas (I'll always remember you / I'll carry your bag) y hechos futuros (The class will start at eight). No lleva -s en tercera persona: ~~She wills go~~; y después de will, siempre verbo base: ~~will to go~~.
2. Going to: lo que ya está en tus planes

Be going to se usa para planes e intenciones decididas antes de hablar (I'm going to study medicine — it's my plan) y para predicciones con evidencia visible (Look at those clouds: it's going to rain). La evidencia empuja a going to; la simple opinión sobre el futuro va con will: I think Mexico will win the match.

Iván: I'm going to try out for the soccer team in January. Coach, if you read this: I'll train harder than anyone, I promise. Maybe I won't start in the first division, but I'll get there.
Regina: Honestly? I don't have plans yet. Maybe I'll travel after graduation, maybe I'll work with my uncle. Who knows? Life will surprise me anyway.
